If you’re asking yourself “What’s Google Buzz?”, you already have an idea why Google is ending this service. Google Buzz was the first social networking project launched by Google. As you can tell, it never really caught on. There were people that used it but, since the launch of Google+, its just a small percentage compared to the number of Google+ users.
According to webpronews.com, Bradley Horowitz (Google VP) released this statement with the recent Google+ update:
In a few weeks, Google Buzz service center will be shut down so all the attention can go to the more popular child, Google+ (Some of us know that feeling all too well…). Since the release of Google+, it’s member’s have grown exponentially week by week, or even day by day. So Google needs all the help they can get to make user experience the best it can be.
Google doesn’t seem too upset about this change. They look at it as a learning curve; Taking all the positives from Google Buzz and learning from all the negatives. This is a great move for the company and we can’t wait to see where it takes Google+.
