Official ICS Update for Original ASUS Transformer Coming Mid-February

Written by Doug Puccetti(Me) on www.techhog.com:

We heard the ICS update for the original Transformer was coming soon, we just didn’t know when. Well, according to ASUS’ Facebook page, we will be receiving the update ‘Mid-February.’

Granted Mid-February might seem like forever away but it’s only a few weeks. All of us who own the original Transformer should just be happy we will be receiving an ICS update at all. This also shows that asking a question on Facebook might result in great news!

I’m excited, hope you are too!

Delay of Samsung's Droid Prime and Android '4.0'

This statement was released early yesterday:
"Samsung and Google have decided to postpone the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event during the CTIA in San Diego, previously scheduled for Oct. 11. Under the current circumstances, both parties have agreed that this is not the appropriate time for the announcement of a new product. We would ask for the understanding of our clients and media for any inconvenience caused. We will announce a new date and venue in due course"
A few months ago Google mentioned that Android 4.0, coined Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), was expected to be released in late October/early November. But recently they decided that ICS was not in a stage where it can be released to the general public. Bummer... This means we might not be seeing ICS till early 2012 and same goes for the Droid Prime.

Many companies and customers are upset with this decision. Either the company was planing on using the new ICS OS in their new product or customers were just anxious for the new Developer Phone, Samsung's Droid Prime. Good news about ICS is when it gets released, the source code will also be released to the public(unlike Honeycomb, Android 3.0).

Of course this is bad news for some but whats done is done and I'm sure it is for the best.
