Dell Inspiron Duo 10-inch(Review)

You're a confused buyer looking at getting a new computer for your travels.. You think you want a new touchscreen tablet because they are new and hip, but you also want a physical keyboard because you feel more at ease using one. Well have no fear, The Dell Inspiron Duo is here!
The new Duo netbook converts from a tablet touchscreen to a netbook laptop with functioning keyboard. The Dell Inspiron Duo comes with a 10in touchscreen, full functioning keyboard and Windows 7 Premium. Also with pretty standard internals like 2GB of DDR 3 ram, Integrated Intel NM10 Graphics, Wifi enabled, 1.3MP webcam, 3.0 Bluetooth and a nice high resolution screen. The processor is a dual core Atom N550 which is pretty nice for a netbook(this will allow you to do basic daily computer tasks with ease. Don't expect to run games or hi-def movies with great frame rate).

When playing with a demo of this product the swivel mount supporting the screen seems very sturdy. When the computer is in both tablet and netbook mode, the screen fits flush in the case. The screen is nice and responsive to the touch(But there were times of lag here and there. Not sure if that was because its a floor model or not). When you are using the device in tablet form there is some extra size and weight added from the keyboard. So if you are looking for using this as a straight tablet which is significantly lighter, you might as well move on. However, when you want to type papers and such you can switch to using the keyboard in seconds.

The one issue I had while using this netbook is the touch pad on the keyboard is a little small. I found my finger moving off the pad really easily, guess that's something someone would have to get used to. Oh and also, I should add that the battery life is a bout 4 hours. Which is pretty horrible in my honest opinion. You might have to keep this plugged in all day. All in all this is a great start to the flip/swivel design but I think it could be better with a few upgrades and longer battery life.
