Asus Transformer Preview

We've come to a point, in our society, where computers are everywhere and ever changing. First it was the desktop. Then it went to the laptop. Soon after were Netbooks, smartphones and now tablets. But there's a new tablet out on the market which gets a step up from them all. It's the Asus Transformer Tablet. Running honeycomb (Android 3.2) this tablet does everything you would expect a high end Android tablet to do. However with a price of 399.99, its the cheapest Android 3.2 tablet on the market.

I believe the best feature that comes with the Asus Transformer Tablet is the optional Keyboard dock. This keyboard connects to the bottom of the Tablet itself and 'transforms' the tablet in to a working netbook. The Keyboard has hot key buttons like home, back, screen shot, volume, settings, lock screen, etc. So you can tell its was designed for android. The keyboard also offers 2 additional USB ports for an external mouse or flash drive, SD Card slot and an additional charging port. Why you ask? Because when the keyboard is plugged in to the tablet, it gives your tablet an extra 8-9 hours of battery life! Just imagine using your new tablet/netbook for 16-20 hours of straight use. This thing could last you for days.

Some other notable things are Polaris Office and Splashtop. Polaris Office is an application that allows you to open, create and edit Word, Powerpoint and Excell documents. And it works just like any normal windows netbook would. Another cool Application that comes preloaded is Splashtop. This application allows you to control your computer/laptop on your tablet. It basically allows you to access files on your home computer from your tablet. Also allows you to load and play games as well (Yay finally Starcraft 2 on tablet!).

So I have a feeling that this tablet just opened a new door of whats to come for future tablets and devices.

(More on the Asus Transformer and unboxing coming soon)
